What are the specifications and models of stainless steel? Stainless steel does not simply refer to one kind of stainless steel, but refers to more than 100 kinds of industrial stainless steel, each of which plays a role in its specific application field.
The specific specifications and models can be divided into the following types according to the organization status:
1. Ferritic stainless steel
Including 409, 410L, 430, 430Ti, 433, 434, 436, 439, 441, 444, 446, etc.
The chromium content is between 15% and 30%. The higher the chromium content is, the stronger the corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance and toughness will be. At the same time, it can also well resist the corrosion of environment, salt water and other solutions, but its mechanical and technological properties are relatively weak.
Because of such characteristics, ferritic stainless steel is often used in oxidation resistant steel, acid resistant food factory equipment, etc.
2. Austenitic stainless steel
Including 200 and 300 series.
Chromium content is more than 18%, nickel content is 8%, and a small amount of molybdenum, titanium, nitrogen and other elements are contained. This stainless steel has good weldability, shaping and toughness, and can resist corrosion of various media, so it can be used to make acid resistant chemical pipes and equipment, with good comprehensive performance.
3. Austenitic ferritic duplex stainless steel
Including S31200, S32304, S32750, etc.
As the name implies, this type of stainless steel has half austenite and half ferrite structures, so it discards some of the disadvantages of both and has the advantages of both types of stainless steel. Compared with pure ferritic stainless steel, it has higher plasticity, weldability and toughness. Compared with pure austenitic stainless steel, it has stronger strength and corrosion resistance.
4. Martensitic stainless steel
Including 403, 410, 416, 416 (Se), 420, 431, 440A, 440B, 440C, etc.
This stainless steel has a high carbon content, so it has strong strength, hardness and wear resistance, but its shaping, weldability and corrosion resistance are relatively poor.
It can be used for parts with high mechanical requirements, such as turbine blades, hydraulic valves, etc.
5. Stainless steel plates and strips for pressure equipment
Including S30408, S31603, etc.
This is a kind of stainless steel specially used for pressure vessels. It has clear requirements on size, technology and quality, and is mainly used for some sanitary equipment.
